Jeanne Baron is a podcaster and an award-winning broadcast journalist. She has created and produced original programming, and reported stories from the field, for NPR and NPR affiliates including, WNYC, WGBH, the Maine Public Broadcasting Network and Vermont Public Radio, as well as podcasts for non-profits.
Baron currently produces the podcast Px Pulse, a leading voice for science literacy in the field of HIV prevention. She was part of the team nominated for a Pulitzer Prize at the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, for its coverage of forced evictions tied to World Bank projects. She was the on-air host and producer of Maine Things Considered at the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. She produced and hosted an Emmy-nominated television documentary for Maine Public Television covering the controversy surrounding the arrival of Somali refugees in Central Maine. She was the lead producer and editor for NPR's Justice Talking with Margot Adler. She's created programming for WGBH and the GlobalPost, and reported stories for the BBC's The World, NPR's foreign desk & national desk. Her reporting work on justice and human rights issues has won her numerous AP awards. She's twice won grants from the Fund for Investigative Journalism. She is a graduate of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
